Last July 28-Aug 1, my group and I had our duty at Lipa Medix Medical Center [LMMC].. We were assigned at the NICU [Neonatal Intensive Care Unit] & our shift was from 6am-2pm..
It was such a blast unlike our other duties which was usually so toxic!! Having all of these cute babies around you to play with added to the fun too! LOL! ;3 Work there was so easy coz all we had to do was tend to the babies' needs like feeding them, changing their diapers [LOL! ;3] and taking their vital signs.. And everytime that there was a new born baby, we had to do cord care, which included cutting the baby's umbilical cord, injecting Vit.K, getting its weight, etc..
It was just so sad coz I never got the chance to carry even one baby, coz I was so scared! I was scared that I might accidentally drop one!!! LOL!!! ;3
On our fourth day, we got to watch a mother giving birth by cesarian section up-close!! OMGGG!! it was so disgusting at first coz there was sooooooo much blood oozing out from the incision!! daammmn!!! hahaha! But I got used to it.. I had to.. LOL! ;3..
This duty was so much fun that I told myself that when I become an RN I want to be assigned here again! ;3
